Beaded Capes is run by Anita, who has been in the boutique business since 2006. For twenty years she has styled brides, wedding guests and party goers, and chosen every piece she sells by hand.
Over those years one piece kept stealing the show. Customers would come in for an outfit and leave talking about the beaded cape. Women of every background and every age wore them, over gowns, slip dresses, jumpsuits and sarees. A cape turned a simple dress into the outfit everyone remembered.
So Anita gave the cape a home of its own. Beaded Capes is a small collection of hand beaded fringe capes and capelets, chosen for the way they move, the way they catch the light and the way they make you feel when you walk into a room.
How our capes are made
Every cape is beaded by hand by skilled artisans in India. The beads are stitched one by one onto sheer mesh or fabric, and the fringe is strung by hand, which is why no two pieces are ever exactly alike. Many designs are made in small runs and some are one of a kind.
